Virtual Masterclass: Song Interpretation & Acting for Musical Theater

Join Broadway Resident Director, Max Quinlan, for a masterclass on musical theatre song interpretation and acting. Max has served as the Resident Director for the 2014 Broadway revival of LES MISÉRABLES, Resident Director for the National Tour of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, and the Associate Director for the World Premiere of UNMASKED, by Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber. This 5-part master class series is an opportunity for actors to work and grow.   

Class 1: The Audition (A song of your choice/16 bar cut) – A Standard Musical Theatre Song
Class 2: Modern Musical Theatre song (post 1995)
Class 3: Sondheim, Schwartz, or Finn Song
Class 4: Radio/Pop song
Class 5: Callback – Max picks new audition song  

Classes will be taught 11/7, 11/14, 11/2, 12/5, and 12/12 from 3pm to 5pm.  

Additionally a special feature of this class, Rosalind Metcalf, the Gulf Coast Symphony’s Associate Music Director for its musical productions, will be providing one-on-one musical coachings (virtually) prior to the class 5 as part of this schedule to help you prepare for your class #5 assignment.    Additionally, Rosalind Metcalf will be available to do coachings for Weeks 2-4 for a small additional fee. Coachings would be scheduled at your convenience.

$160 – $190 Masterclass or Masterclass + 3 coachings
